Feeding the addiction round two

To say that today was amazing would be the understatement of 2011, folks, let me tell you.

For eight seasons, I have watched the cast of One Tree Hill grow, go through issues many of us face, deal with crisis situations none of us want to face, and just do their thing. And I’ve loved every minute of it.

In March, Alexis fed the addiction when she showed me Clothes Over Bros and the location of the River Court… even if we couldn’t see it because they were filming.

Welp, that situation has been fixed as my girl Shannon and I returned to Wilmington today for the One Tree Hill addict tour, as I call it, and we hit the River Court.

That wasn’t the main attraction, however.

Shannon and I hit the road early Sunday morning to check out Screen Gems Studio in Wilmington where One Tree Hill and so much more is filmed.

And it was definitely worth waking up early.

The tour guides, recent graduates and students at UNC Wilmington, were fountains of knowledge about the studio and the films and shows filmed there. They took us through three sets, all of which belonged to One Tree Hill which made me a very happy Amanda, and let us wander and filled our minds with little pieces of knowledge.

For example, did you know there’s not any electric or plumbing on the sets? Apparently, when electricity or water is needed, they’ll bring in an extension cord or hose and go in through the bottom of the set.

During the tour we saw Haley and Nathan’s house, Brooke and Julian’s house, and Peyton’s Red Bedroom Records. And I was in heaven!

The only thing I would have changed was the ability to take photos during the tour. Photography is not allowed and, if you’re caught taking photos, they’ll delete them off your camera and then escort you out. Luckily, no one on our tour tried it though the temptation was definitely there.

From there we went to River Court, which is near the Battleship, which is awesome. Fans have messages all over the tarmac and nearby wood, and we added our own. A couple favorites:

Aiight? Seriously? That's all?

The lyrics to the themesong on the lightpost

And ours:

Shannon did the I <3

I did the OTH!

And we signed our names

Today was beyond the perfect day for a girl like me. And, I have to say, I plan to return to Wilmington to finish checking out OTH locations.
